Yes. The timing results are sorted based on racers running the stages in order, and all racers must start on Stage 1 in the scheduled time slot for your category.
One short blast indicates that a rider is passing a course marshal along a stage. It warns riders out of sight, that a rider is approaching.
Three sharp blasts indicates that a rider is down and the trail may be blocked. Slow down and stop if directed to do so.
No. The only exception is in the event of an incident where you are stopped by a marshal. They will direct you on how to return to the start for a re-run.
First, try to move yourself and your bike off the track. If you do not see a course marshal, ask a fellow racer to report your location to a marshal. Medical support is on-site and will be directed to your location by a marshal.
If you get medically evacuated, a marshal will arrange for your bike to be transported to the Race Hub tent or Base Camp. A marshal will ask for your name and timing chip. A designated friend or family member can pick up your bike. If the bike is not picked up by the end of the race, it will be secured at the park until you can arrange to pick it up.
Not Recommended. Please register and race in the appropriate category for your skill level. This keeps the racers moving at a safe and efficient pace.
Yes, BUT… Please follow racing etiquette. If you overtake a slower rider, announce there are two riders passing. (Be kind) If you hear an approaching faster racer, pull over and allow a safe pass.
Each timed section will end with RED course marking tape. When you pass the tape, your timed section is over. Please slow down immediately after the tape to avoid hazardous intersections.
Announce that you are approaching (nicely!) and pass safely. If you hear a faster rider coming up behind you, kindly allow them to pass. The marshals will do their best to regulate appropriate space between riders and may shuffle the start order as needed.
There is mechanical support at the race hub. If a bike malfunctions during a timed stage, finish and exit the stage safely. Be aware that other riders will be on the course and allow them to pass you without incident. Re-runs are not allowed due to mechanical issues.
Yes. The pink number plates are for riders scheduled to race 5 stages. The yellow plates are for riders racing 7 stages.
No, BUT try and make it to the next stage in a timely fashion. This will avoid unevenly skilled riders from being on course at the same time.
Yes, BUT… It is recommended that you stay relatively close to the other racers in your category. If your timing chip is not turned in before the awards ceremony for your category, you will forfeit your race results.
Return to Base Camp and turn in your timing chip. If you can not return to Base Camp, find a marshal and turn in your timing chip to them. This way we know you are not out on the course by the end of the race.
Some obstacles have established alternate lines and bypasses. No not create your own bypasses.
YES! We highly recommend you pre-ride the course before race day! Trail conditions change frequently. The course is fast and filled with jumps, berms, drops, and sandy corners. Talk to a marshal or other rider for advice.
Yes, absolutely! Please stay on the fire roads that are adjacent to the race course, not next to or on the trails. Course marshals can direct you to the best spots to observe the race.
